We are a very active troop. In addition to the regular campouts that we have, some of our activities include spelunking
in caves, horseback riding, snow skiing, hiking at the Shiloh Military Park,
50 mile bike trips, rappelling and rock climbing, spending a night on the USS Alabama battleship in Mobile,
trips to Chattanooga, car washes and pool parties.
We also participate in community events such as walking in local parades, placing American flags on the graves of Veteran’s
throughout the city cemeteries, picking up trash after the Fiddler’s Convention, helping out at local soccer tournaments,
setting up a rope bridge at the Dogwood Festival, working the pancake breakfasts at church, and helping out at the Cancer
Relay for Life. Over these past 11 years, the Athens
community has come to count on us to help them at their events.
We also have adopted a 2 mile stretch of road where we pick up trash the first Saturday of every month. This work is
in conjunction with the City of Athens and the Keep Athens Limestone Beautiful folks.
